The Officina Pisarum project was born out of my gratitude and deep affection for Pisa—the city that welcomed me back in 2002, and where I chose to live and work with my family.

Like many “outsiders”, I only knew Pisa for Piazza dei Miracoli. I had no idea about the charm of the historic buildings along the Lungarni, the twilight glow reflecting on the Arno river, the breathtaking hidden alleys, or the open, airy feeling of its squares.

I started working on this project in 2015, redrawing the Lungarni palaces one by one, capturing what I’m lucky enough to see every single day through my own style and taste. I fell in love with redrawing these architectural gems, and bit by bit, new pieces came to life: the three Leaning Towers, Piazza della Pera, Santa Maria della Spina, Palazzo dell’Orologio, and of course, the Leaning Tower itself, the Baptistery, the Cathedral, and so much more…
