The Officina Pisarum project was born out of my gratitude and affection for Pisa, the city that welcomed me in the 2002 and in which I decided to work and live with my family. Like many “newcomers” I only knew Pisa for Piazza dei Miracoli, unaware of the charm of the Lungarni palaces, the glow of the twilight reflected in the Arno, the evocative glimpses of the alley ways and the breathtaking expanses of the squares.
I started working on this project in 2015, redesigning the buildings of Lungarno Pacinotti one by one, interpreting with my personal touch and my taste what I’m lucky to be able to appreciate every day.
The horizontal development of the Lungarno evoked in me the idea of making a folding ticket almost one meter long, on the back of which the names of the most significant buildings and their date of construction were indicated. I enjoyed redesigning the architecture, little by little the Lungarno Gambacorti, the Lungarno Galilei, the three Leaning Towers, Piazza della Pera, Santa Maria della Spina, the Palazzo dell’Orologio and of course the Leaning Tower, the Baptistery and the Duomo. Every piece of architecture and every glimpse suggested a different approach. Thus the idea for the notebooks, the writing books, the leaflets, and calendars were created.
In this way a true and varied marketing project has taken shape, which has been enriched over time with new illustrations and other applications.
